To celebrate the start of the Tour de France’s first German start in 30 years, we planned to ride from SRAM’s European HQ to the race start in Dusseldorf. Jason Phillips, Thorsten Wilhelms, and Chris Zigmont–members of SRAM’s marketing and brand departments–decided to complete the 400km ride along the Rhine in two days. Even for ex-pros, Jason and Thorsten, this looked like a challenging plan. Luckily for me, I rode along in a well-equipped SRAM support car. This gave me the chance to learn more about the company, its unique position in the market, and its passionate and international team.
