Trek Factory Racing officially kicked off its first season at one of cycling’s most revered locations, the Velodrome de Roubaix. The location, an appropriate choice for a team built for early season success, hosted 1,200 fans, Trek retailers, and fan club members to welcome the first edition of Trek Factory Racing.

“Today is a huge day in the history of Trek and this team,” said Trek VP Joe Vadeboncoeur. “We love racing and can’t wait for the season to start. This is a big step for Trek and big step for cycling. We have built an international team that will work hard to make the fans part of the team.”

The evening presentation was the feature of a full day’s schedule that included a morning 78km ride of a modified Tour of Flanders course attended by 250 members of the team’s fan club. The event was fan club members’ first chance to interact and ride with members of the team including the Ronde’s 2013 champion, Fabian Cancellara.

Trek Factory Racing’s roster has the choice between two race platforms, the Trek Domane and Madone. Racers competing on cobbles or preferring the a more relaxed geometry will race about the IsoSpeed-equipped Domane while those seeking a more aggressive position will race the Madone. All riders will employ the Trek Speed Concept for time trials.
