For the past decade, Argentina has offered cyclists an ideal option for early-season racing. For years, the province of San Luis invited cyclists from around the world for a week of sun-drenched racing. And this year, the neighboring province of San Juan has taken up the initiative. With four UCI WorldTour teams and a host of Pro Continental outfits, as well as national selections and regional teams from Argentina, the Tour of San Juan provides one of the most diverse pelotons of the season. This year, top stars like Tom Boonen, Vincenzo Nibali and Bauke Mollema all opted to start their season here. Far from the pressure of the WorldTour, the Vuelta a San Juan offers an ideal opportunity to start the year strong.
The Tour of San Juan will end on Sunday, January 29th, with a 138.2km Stage 7 in San Juan – San Juan. For race news head to our Racing section.
