June 20, 2016 – For the letter O in our A-to-Z countdown to the 2016 Tour de France (#TDF2016) we’ve chosen Stuart O’GRADY, shown in this image winning a key stage of the 2004 Tour.

This is the Australian out-sprinting Denmark’s Jakob Piil and Sandy Casar in Chartres France at the end of a marathon, five-man, 180-kilometer-long breakaway.
The rider in the background, taking fourth place on the stage, is French champion Thomas Voeckler, who would take the yellow jersey that day and defend it for the next for the next 10 days. As for O’Grady, he was a strong contender in the green jersey competition, taking fourth place in Paris only 38 points behind fellow Aussie Robbie McEwen.
