Nov 19, 2014 – As Specialized and Lululemon end their partnership with Velocio Sports, the three-time UCI elite women’s team time trial champions, SRAM has stepped into the title sponsor role. Specialized and Lululemon are both moving over to the Boels-Dolmans Women’s Cycling Team for 2015.

The team retains its world championship winning core, including German Lisa Brennauer, a member of the victorious TTT team and the individual elite women’s TT champion in 2014 as well. Brennauer also finished second in the elite women’s road race in 2014. A big loss will be top American Evelyn Stevens who is following Specialized and Lululemon to the Boels-Dolmans squad. Tayler Wiles will be the sole American on Velocio-SRAM.

The Team will ride SRAM Red 22, Zipp Firecrest wheels and Quarq power meters on Cervelo frames. The team marks the first time SRAM has been a title sponsor in professional road cycling.

“This team is too good not to support. They focus on winning, specializing in races against the clock, and deliver pure professionalism through it all. It’s the perfect formula for us as we continue to drive top level women’s racing globally,” said SRAM’s Global Sponsorship Manager Alex Wassmann.

“It’s exciting to see the growth of women’s racing, Velocio-SRAM is absolutely one of the best run programs, and we’re proud to enhance the level of our support,” said SRAM President Stan Day.

“SRAM has been a huge supporter of the team since we started working together three years ago and especially this year in our search for new partnership. We’re excited to be growing our collaboration with a great brand that supports women’s cycling,” stated Kristy Scrymgeour, Team Director.
