Sept 11, 2015 – Colombia’s Rigoberto Uran won the Grand Prix of Quebec WorldTour one-day race on Friday ahead of Australian Michael Matthews. Uran gave Etixx-QuickStep a second victory on the day, after Matteo Trentin’s earlier victory in the sixth stage of the Tour of Britain.

Uran, cycling road race silver medalist at the 2012 London Olympics, used a powerful attack on the finishing climb to take the triumph ahead of Matthews, with Norway’s Alexander Kristoff third. The 201.6km race saw the field complete 16 laps of a 12.6km circuit featuring four distinct climbs.
The race was the first event in a double-header of WorldTour one-day race in Canada, with the Grand Prix of Montreal up next on Sunday. Many riders are using the two races to prepare for the upcoming UCI Road World Championships in Richmond, Virginia from September 19-25.
