Jan. 19, 2015 — I jumped on a flight Saturday night from Bermuda to join the Rabobank-Liv Road Team in Calpe, Spain, for a few days of their training camp.

Currently ranked No. 1 by the UCI, this team has incredible depth in both talent and personality. On a brisk Sunday, the ladies were scheduled for a five-hour ride through the hills of Costa Blanca with five 10-minute hill-climb intervals up the Benissa right in the middle.
Current road world champion Pauline Ferrand Prevot and Marianne Vos, multi-time world champion in road, cyclocross, and track, took it easy for the day to save their legs for the two last cyclocross races of the season.
The camaraderie and trust among the members of this team is palpable. They eat, drink, laugh, and even sing together. Marianne says singing is their secret to make it through long training ride.
