June 10, 2016 – Questions abounded at the start of the first mountain stage in this year’s Critérium du Dauphiné, but they were quickly answered when the pack hit the final climb up to the Vaujany ski resort in the Alps. Christopher Froome has lost none of his edge thank you!

Attacking mid-way up the 6.5 kilometer climb, he quickly dropped race leader Alberto Contador and other challengers, as only his one-time teammate Richie Porte could follow. And at the finish, the yellow leader’s jersey was once again his as the British rider is now in prime position to win third Dauphiné. But Froome knows that a tough weekend in the Alps still awaits.
