Jan 22, 2016 – A flat 168.7-kilometer stage awaited the peloton after the mountainous stage to El Amago in the Tour of San Luis. But what appeared to be a routine sprint stage imploded with a late-race crash that took down nearly 40 riders in front of the pack. Race leader Eduardo Sepulveda crashed hard along with 2014 race winner Nairo Quintana, effectively neutralizing the final. Argentinian national team member German Tivani, scored the second win in two days of the host country.
