Jan 21, 2015 – Zipp, following parent company SRAM’s lead, has announced its official roster of sponsored road teams for 2015. With the Etixx – Quick-Step squad moving on to Shimano before a rumored move to FSA’s new electronic group Zipp is left with only AG2R on the World Tour Stage. Zipp has focused many of those resource towards women’s teams and men’s development squads. The Indy based brand’s announcement is below.

Zipp wheels again will carry one of the world’s top teams, AG2R LA MONDIALE, into the Spring Classics and Grand Tours. Zipp also continues its support of Australia-based DRAPAC Pro Cycling. Zipp also will provide handlebars, stems, seatposts and aerobars to Team Roompot, a new Dutch team. Zipp also commits to supply wheels and components to the premier U23 development program, the Axel Merckx-led Axeon Cycling Team. This year’s lineup also reflects our expanded investment in women’s racing through partnerships with Velocio-SRAM Pro Cycling, Boels Dolmans Cycling Team and Twenty16 presented by Sho-Air.
Zipp will provide teams with a wider array of technology and products than ever before including our full line of purpose-build Firecrest® wheels and Super-9 Discs, Zipp carbon and Service Course SL handlebars, stems and seatposts. For the first time, multiple men and women’s teams will ride Vuka™ aerobar systems to achieve game-changing fit and efficiency for time trials and team time trials.
Pro-team partnerships are as fundamental to Zipp technology development as super computing and wind tunnels. Zipp engineers and tech liaisons are at the races, on the reconnaissance rides to better understand performance requirements in most demanding real-world riding and racing situations, whether it’s aero efficiency or cobblestone-conquering durability.

Velocio-SRAM Pro Cycling (Germany)
Under a new name including SRAM title sponsorship, this team secured more than 25 major wins in 2014 including the UCI World Team Time Trial and, with Lisa Brennauer, the Individual Time Trial World Championships. Watch for more from Tiffany Cromwell, Tayler Wiles and crew in 2015.

Boels Dolmans Cycling Team (the Netherlands)
This Dutch team of internationals stars is a contender in any race with key riders including Lizzie Armitstead, Ellen Van Dijk and Evelyn Stevens. The team ended 2014 ranked third among UCI Women’s Teams.

A longtime Zipp, this team is reloaded for 2015 to win races and, core to its mission, develop riders for the Olympics and international competition. New addition Carmen Small adds firepower to a roster that also includes Kaitie Antonneau and Lauren Hall.

At the heart of the renaissance of French cycling, the squad won the Team Classification at the Giro D’Italia and the Tour de France, where Jean-Christophe Péraud placed second overall. Other key riders include Johan Vansummeren, Christophe Riblon, Romain Bardet, Carlos Betancur and Domenico Pozzovivo.

Axeon Cycling Team (USA) – UCI Continential
Pronounced “ak-shun.” Directed by Axel Merckx, this is the premiere U23 development squad in men’s cycling. SRAM was a founding partner of the program six years ago, and Zipp is proud to now work with team on providing the best young riders with the best wheels and components.
