We’ve always put every ounce of energy into creating Peloton magazine for our customers, clients, and partners. Providing this magazine and brand to you has been our north star, and we are thankful we get to create this.

And now we’re going to deliver even better, because Peloton is joining an amazing company that shares all of our values and will provide us with more resources, more ways to serve you, and more places to tell our story.

Pocket Outdoor Media (POM) today announced that it has acquired five businesses: Outside magazine, Outside TV, Gaia GPS, athleteReg, and Peloton magazine. These brands join the much-loved properties already in POM’s existing portfolio—SKI, Yoga Journal, Backpacker, Trail Runner, Climbing, Clean Eating, Women’s Running, VeloNews, Warren Miller Entertainment, Roll Massif, FinisherPix, and almost 20 more—to form the active lifestyle equivalent of a musical supergroup.

And that’s not all: POM is also changing its name to Outside. You can read more about that announcement in this interview with CEO Robin Thurston.

We think this is great news for fans of Peloton, and not just because our new teammates share our passion to help everyone live an active lifestyle. The new Outside will be investing in what we do and helping us inspire and enable more people to participate in the activities we love. “Everything we do is driven by a belief that a hike, run, ride, or yoga practice can change your life,” said Thurston, “and today’s additions are all about fulfilling that mission. We will now be delivering world-class content, experiences, and services 24/7 to almost every home in America across every platform, screen, and device.”

You will also hear more about the company’s Active Pass membership, which you can think of as the Amazon Prime for the active outdoor lifestyle. The $99 membership includes hundreds of dollars in value in the form of premium digital content, magazine subscriptions, event entries and photography, training plans, recipes, books, a personalized feed, and interactive experiences with editors, pro athletes, coaches, and other experts. And it will soon include new perks as the five new brands join the Outside platform: advanced navigation tools that’ll keep you safe while skiing and backpacking; exclusive access to first-run documentaries; access to member-only events and adventures; expanded gear discounts; and much more.

Last but not least, we are thrilled that our entire team has been invited to join the new Outside, including Brad Roe, Tim Schamber, Adam Reek and William Tracy.
