Ahead of the Dirty Kanza 200 this weekend, Easton has unveiled a new wheelset, the EA90 AX, aimed squarely at adventuring off road. Everything about this wheelset has been designed for epic rides like Kanza.

- 25mm internal rim width for wide tires
- Uses Easton’s Vault hubs with larger bearings on a wider bearing stance for improved reliability
- 21mm deep rims
- 1625g total weight
This wheelset is built with the demands of roads less traveled in mind. It starts with an aluminum rim that is wider internally (25mm) than it is deep (21mm). That wide rim width makes this wheelset ready to handle tires from 35mm-55mm. And using an asymmetrical rim design, Easton is able to better balance the spoke tension, leading to higher durability and stiffness.
The 21mm-deep aluminum rims are laced to Easton’s Vault hubs. These hubs increase durability and reliability by using larger bearing on a wider bearing stance as well as improved seals. Reversed drive rings offer 60 points of engagement—every six degrees—for near instant acceleration. Easton also includes swappable end-caps for the hubs allowing compatibility across the major axle standards.
With center lock discs, the EA90 AX from Easton is a tubeless-ready wheelset designed to make your craziest gravel riding plans a reality. Look for a review from Peloton in the future.
