On Test: Trek Domane SLR Race Shop Limited Disc

The bike that truly signaled Trek was on a hot streak, engineering out of the box, novel solutions to help riders cover rough terrain faster was the original Domane launch. When the new SLR version of the Domane was released last year it included an updated, adjustable rear ISO Speed decoupler as well as a new ISO Speed front end, with a small pivot allowing the fork’s steer tube to flex, front to back, which gives the bars a small amount vertical travel smoothing the front end. The PELOTON Service Course just unboxed a new Project One Race Shop Limited version of the Domane SLR Disc.
PELOTON
The Race Shop Limited bike has what Trek calls Pro Endurance Geometry. It is longer than the standard Domane, with a lower bottom bracket and a lower head tube. This is the bike the Trek-Segafredo team races at the cobbled classics. Our Project one bike features a paint job that highlights the colors we’ve used on the PELOTON kits for many years. It’s been built with Shimano Di2 and a set of Bontrager Aeolus 5 TLR clinchers and Bontrager XXX parts.

We were very happy to see the bike has substantial tire clearance. In these images the bike is built with 32mm Bontrager R3 tires but fits 35mm size tires, making the bike more than just a road endurance bike, the Trek Domane SLR Race Shop Limited Disc is a legitimate threat at many gravel races, especially in light of its longer wheel base, lower bottom bracket and its ISO Speed decouplers.
