Sidi has a new shoe for 2021 specifically designed for gravel riding, and, appropriately enough, it’s simply called “Gravel.” (We admittedly had to double check the name with Sidi after the brand told us about the new shoe. It’s certainly a hard to forget name!)
PELOTON
Because gravel often entails riding long distances, the Sidie Gravel shoe is based around MTB Competition soles for efficient pedaling. Additionally, an external, reinforced heel cup helps increase power transfer. And because there are times when you will be walking your bike or exploring trailside, the shoe features excellent traction, as well as toe spikes for when things get muddy.
The Sidi Gravel features a Politex suede upper as well as a single Tecno 3 Precision dial to secure the foot and provide easy adjustment on the fly. A reinforced heel cup leads to a better fit and reduces heel slip.
And if it’s anything like Sidi’s other models, the Gravel should be a super durable choice with quality construction. Features like an abrasion-resistant toecap and protective polyurethane padding at the ankle make this model even more robust than usual Sidi shoes.
It’s available in dark green and brown, two colors that match the natural environments experienced while riding gravel roads. Full sizes are available in 38 to 48, and half sizes are available from 39.5 to 46.5. Each pair costs $240.
We’re getting a test pair in to the Peloton Service Course, so be on the lookout for a review in the near future!
