July is looming over us like a mid-winter storm and we all know one thing is true – the Tour is coming. Here at the Peloton Service Course, we are ramping up for some trips abroad by testing some of the latest and greatest summer tech in the industry. Our week started off with a look at a new endurance offering from BMC aimed to please many, the Roadmachine. Through the middle of the week we brought you Pioneer’s single-leg power meter, Lezyne’s mechanical wizard on-bike kit and three items (Rapha, Easton and Bont) from our Paddock for adventures in the coming months. We finished off the week with our long term review of the Feedback Sports Portable Omnium Trainer – just in time to warm up the engine for our first race on a new test bike. Stay tuned for details on that.

Mechanical Master Kit from Lezyne
Flats and mechanicals tend to come in waves of three or more. And they always seem to happen at the worst time possible—like when you have just an hour to get back home to take your kids to the dentist. After a string of mechanicals one weekend, we called Dillon Clap at Lezyne and asked him to suggest three must-carry products to keep mechanicals and flats at bay.

Peloton Paddock
Summer is well and truly here, which means rides have gotten longer, legs are getting stronger and almost every weekend has an epic ride in store. The Peloton Service Course brings you three items we’ve been putting some serious miles on. First up is Rapha’s Shadow Kit, while not a typical summer item, here on the coast it has been ideal for wet and foggy morning rides. From there we bring you Bont’s Roit, an entry level shoe from Australian cobblers and Easton’s EC90SL, an ultralight stem that doesn’t skimp on stiffness.

Feedback Sports Omnium Trainer
If the design of this sleek trainer looks similar, it’s because it was purchased from the Indiana-based company SportCrafters that’s been in the trainer business for 20 years. Feedback Sports liked the construction so much that they brought it in-house and tweaked the design some to make it their own.
