May is here and it has brought some mid-season change to the pro peloton. The decade-long grand tour domination by Team Sky is over. Well, sort of. The British outfit is now called Team INEOS, but other than a name change and new burgundy kits, it looks set to continue the winning ways of Sky with the roster of Tour de France champions Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas. Come July, they’ll be vying for another Tour victory, and they’ll do so aboard the new Pinarello Dogma F12.
• The Dogma F12 will have both a rim and a disc brake version.
• Integrated cabling was an important design element in this update.
• Pinarello claims it to be, no surprise here, lighter, stiffer and more aero
The Dogma F12 builds upon its predecessor, the F10, and aims for an all-around ride quality with balanced stiffness, weight and aerodynamics. Pinarello claims a 7.3 percent drag reduction compared to the F10 resulting in a savings of 8 watts at 40km/hr. Additionally, thanks to a new carbon and a redesigned chainstay cross section, the F12 has a claimed 10 percent increase in lateral stiffness over the F10. It’s a race bike built to handle whatever route you need it to, be it hills or all-out flat days.

One of the most significant redesigns on the F12 is the cable routing which allows for integration of both mechanical and electronic shifting as well as rim and disc brakes. The integrated stem/handlebar, the Most Talon Ultra, helps with this integration and is itself, like the frame, lighter, stiffer and more aero.
The Dogma F12 comes in two models: a rim brake version and a disc brake version. Both have clearance for 28mm tires. The rim brake frame without paint weighs a claimed 820g, with the disc brake version adding an additional 20g.
