Apr 16, 2016 – In a year filled with sexy new shoes, rising to the top is the new DMT R1.

peloton

These Italians have been a bit absent from the U.S.market in recent years, but in 2016 they are storming back with the hottest shoe in the peloton.

The R1 cuts a laser-clean profile with only two Boas and no forefoot Velcro. DMT feels that if the fit and last are right, the extra Velcro closure is superfluous. The all- new carbon outsole is vented directly to the interior of the shoe, which then flows through holes in the anatomic sock liner.

The rear of the outsole forms a shallow tub around the heel that locks the rear of the foot down and keeps it there with a reinforced upper profile and anti-slip properties.

The tongue is padded with polyurethane foam and features a very smart Velcro dot to ensure it does not creep out of place. DMT also kept the shoe incredibly light (225 grams for size 41), which is helped by the very-low-volume last. This R1 is for the narrow-footed among us, but call us shallow, it’s the gorgeous look of the DMT R1 that has truly won us over.
