Two hundred years ago on the Mediterranean island of Menorca (an isolated island undiscovered until the 17th century) a unique gin was born. The distillery is still owned and run by the Pons family with old-wood-fired copper stills, and the gin is sold in the United States under the name “Mahon Gin”—the name of the town where the gin is made. Mahon was recently awarded the Gold Medal at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Pau Gasol (left), the 7-footer from Barcelona, has been tearing up the NBA since he won rookie of the year in 2002 with the Memphis Grizzlies. Moving on in 2008 to the Lakers—where he won two NBA championships. Gasol is a five-time all-star and now plays for the Chicago Bulls. His younger brother, Marc Gasol (right), is 7’1″, plays on the Memphis Grizzlies and is a 2-time NBA all-star.

So, you can’t get this car in the U.S., but it’s worth lusting over. Seat is part of the Volkswagen Group and this Spanish super-wagon did a 7-minute, 58.12-second lap on Germany’s Nurburgring (the Ferarri California GT did a 7:56 lap in 2009). The Cupra features a 2-liter, four-cyclinder, turbocharged engine with a standard six-speed manual option.

The consummate passer and playmaker, Xavi played his last game for FC Barcelona in the Champions League final on June 6, 2015. At age eleven, he entered La Masia, the Barcelona youth academy and many consider him to be Spain’s greatest midfielder, appearing in more than 700 matches, earning 180 assists and scoring 82 goals for Barcelona. He played for the Barcelona organization from 1991-2015. Xavi, 35, has now moved onto the Qatar-based Al Sadd.
