FREEBIRD VELO. It’s possible we have a “thing” regarding Steve Zissou from the 2004 film, “The Life Aquatic.” As a result, we are mildly infatuated with everything created for the Zissou Bicycle Adventure Team by FreeBird Velo, an artisanal T-shirt company in Redlands, California. All shirts are screen-printed by hand. Check back often as products are created in limited runs. Freebirdvelo.com

SONY RX100. After learning that many of the photographers in our photo annual (peloton #49) were fans of the Sony RX100 for on-the-bike shoots or as a backup camera, we picked one up for $499. The ZEISS Vario- Sonnar T 28-100mm F1.8-4.9 lens is solid. The WiFi makes social posts easy, and it easily f its in a jersey pocket. Get after it. sony.com

BOSWELL’S “THE LIFE OF SAMUEL JOHNSON.” Maybe you won’t ever make it through “Ulysses” or reread “The Brothers Karamazov,” but give Boswell another shot or a f irst attempt. Published in 1791, “The Life of Samuel Johnson” is considered one of the greatest biographies ever written in the English language. Dr. Johnson published “A Dictionary of the English Language” in 1755, 150 years before the “Oxford English Dictionary.” He lived an extraordinary life. Powells.com

LONE MOUNTAIN WAGYU. We eat a lot of beef jerky and when we opened the Lone Mountain Wagyu, it was immediately obvious we needed to learn more about the stuff. This high-quality jerky is created from 100-percent, full-blooded Wagyu beef (a Japanese breed of cattle) in Golden, New Mexico. It’s seasoned with salt, garlic and pure Maple syrup. It melts in your mouth. Try it. lonemountainwagyu.com

PALM “SPECIALE BELGE.” We have had the honor of touring the Palm Brewery in Rodenbach, Belgium (and tasting its award-winning beers). Palm has been brewing in Belgium since 1686 and it’s now a business partnership with Eddy Merckx Cycles that will put these beers into the hearts and minds of cycling fans around the world. Add them to your list of Belgian beers to keep on hand. Palm.be
